The clutch is hydraulic, and the slave cylinder is the part sellers say fails first. This page lists the master and slave cylinder sets sold for each generation, and what the sellers say about them. It is not a repair guide.

How to read it. Every claim is the seller's, as read on its own page on 1 October 2026. This page carries no prices, which go stale; the seller's page has the current one, and whether it is in stock. Nothing here was bought or tested.

Named in search results, not opened

Exedy master and slave cylinders at Good-Win Racing (its pages are behind a bot check I do not pass), a master and slave kit at Mike's Miata Parts, and a Wilwood master cylinder kit for the NA and NB at K-Power. I did not open any of them.

Not covered yet

  • An NC slave or master sold on its own, with the seller's fit notes.
  • Clutch discs and pressure plates, which are a separate topic.
  • Owner experience: the Miata.net threads on this are behind the bot check, so I have read none.
