Wheels (NA and NB)
Wheel choice on an NA or NB is mostly about width, offset and whether the fender needs rolling. This page lists what two sellers offer and what an owner thread and a seller's own staff say about fitment. It is not a repair guide.
How to read it. Seller descriptions are from their own pages, and owner accounts from Miata.net forum threads, read on 1 October 2026 and dated below. Owners disagree, and none of it was tested by me. There are no prices on this page.
What is sold
| Seller | What it says it offers | Fits (as stated) |
|---|---|---|
| Flyin' Miata Kōgeki | flow-formed wheels in 15x8 (and 15x9). The 15x8 has +36 offset, a 67.1 mm hub bore, a weight of 12.4 lb and a 550 kg load rating. It recommends a 205/50-15 tire for the street and a 225/45-15 for the track, which may need a minor fender roll, and offers a template to check brake clearance. One-year warranty; it recommends regular track inspection for cracks | NA and NB |
| RSpeed | sells wheel-and-tire packages and wheels for the NA, NB and NC, including Rota wheels in 15 inch and 17 inch sizes, per search results; I did not open them | NA, NB and NC |
What owners say
From "Wheels 15x8 25mm - No Fender Rolling?" (July 2018, NA). The owner asked what others had done to fit a 15x8 with a 25 to 28 mm offset without rubbing, noting the common advice that anything below about 35 or 36 mm offset forces a fender roll on an NA. Good-Win Racing's owner replied in the thread; he is a seller of wheels, so weigh that:
- He said customers often report that a wheel "never rubbed" and then he shows them the marks on the lift, and that a 25 mm offset on a 15x8 needs a fender roll. Not doing it risks the tire catching the lip and cracking the paint or bending the lip.
- He said a 25 mm offset has proved faster than less aggressive ones and that Spec Miata racers mostly run it, with more scrub radius error and a little more hub wear but no twitchiness or tramlining he has noticed.
- One seller of used wheels told the original poster that he never rolled his fenders and the wheels never rubbed on stock suspension with a decent alignment; the original poster doubted it.
A search of the forum for 15x8 fitment turns up more threads on offsets from +15 to +36; I did not read them.
