The ND ships on small, light 16-inch or 17-inch wheels, and replacement tire choice is limited. This page records one owner thread on what fits the stock 16-inch wheel. It is not tire advice from me.

How to read it. From a Miata.net thread read on 1 October 2026 ("What tire sizes can I run on my stock 16" wheels?", July 2025), one owner's question and three replies. They are individual opinions. There are no prices on this page.

What owners say

  • The question. The owner of a 2023 car with the stock 195/50-16 tires, nearly worn out at 16,000 miles, asked what other sizes fit, for a sporty street tire with a little more tread life.
  • Sizes that fit the stock wheel. One poster gave the stock wheel as 16x6.5 with a +45 offset and said 205/50R16, 205/45R16 and even 225/50R16 will fit on it, the last possibly needing less caster if it rubs when turning. He ran all three on other wheels and named the 205/45 Continental ECS02 as his first choice if you accept a slightly smaller diameter.
  • Weight. A long-time owner reminded that Mazda's low unsprung weight comes from this light wheel and tire, so consider the tire's weight too.
  • A heavier alternative. A third poster fitted Yokohama Advans in 205/50, slightly heavier than stock but closer in diameter to the 17-inch setup, and said summer street tires in the 195 size are very limited. He said the Firehawk Indy is a common suggestion in 205/50 but weighs significantly more.

Search results show other threads on ND and NC tire sizes and the NC's 205/45-17 stock fitment; I did not read them. For wheels see wheels for the NA and NB.
